Rules for Beetleweights

Basic build rules

• According to UK Beetleweight Rules (BBB’s 2026 Beetleweight Rules).

Specific or additional rules

• Wheeled and gyro walkers = 1500g.
• Shuffler and bristle robots + 500g = 2000g.
• Walkers (each leg with 2 degrees of freedom) + 1500g = 3000g.
• Cluster bots = limited according to this formula:
  (0.50 x Walking Bot Mass) + (0.75 x Shuffle Bot Mass) + (Wheeled Bot Mass) + (Gyro Walker Mass) = 1500g.
• Maximum dimensions = 490 x 490 x 390 mm (to fit safety box).
• 1kJ rotating energy limit and 250 mph tip speed limit on all spinning weapons.

Arena specifications

• Internal dimensions: 218 x 218 x 113 cm
• Floor: Wood, OSB, painted.
• Kickplate: Wood.
• Wall: 12 mm Polycarbonate, double layered at lower 20cm.
• Ventilation system: TBC.
• Pit: not yet.
• Out of arena area: TBC.
